Safer Kids is Keeping Up With The Kardashians

We are mentioned in today's Miami Herald! This is the article as it appeared on the Miami Herald's website but it was also in today's paper in the People section.

This just goes to show that no matter who you are, either Joe Shmoe from down the street or one of the Kardashian sisters, everyone wants to make sure that their kids are safe in their home. We are happy to be in business to help.

Simple steps that parents and caregivers can take to keep children stay safe.

  • Stay close, be alert and watch children in and around the pool.
  • This means never leave children unattended in a pool or spa; always watch children closely around all bodies of water.
  • Teach children basic water safety tips
  • Learn and practice water safety skills. This means every family member should know how to swim and learning to perform CPR on children and adults.
  • Have appropriate equipment for your pool or spa. This include fencing, a lockable safety cover, proper drain covers to avoid entrapments, and lifesaving equipment such as life rings and a reaching pole.

It is so Hot outside!

It is so HOT outside! I had a Mom complain that her baby cried every time she put him in the car seat - when we went to look at it I realized the car seat and car we super hot. I would cry too!

Here are a few simple tips:
Try to park in the shade and leave your windows cracked open when ever possible.
If you have an infant carrier car seat, take it inside the air conditioning with you.
Try to always open the doors and windows and air out the car before getting in.
Run the AC for a few minutes and cool off the car before you put the baby in the car seat.
Take a reusable filled with frozen ice packs with you when you go out and leave it in the car seat when you are parked to keep the seat cooler.
